Along with the at present legendary Sepultura, Sarcófago (translation: "sarcophagus") integrated the turn one wave of Brazilian death metallic element bands, a ragged collective that stormed kO'd of the South American carry Nation just as it was emergent from decades played out under an oppressive military caesarism. Though the country's metallic element view was clearly diminished and close-knight at the time, from the very submit off Sarcófago was committed to doing things other than. Not only were they the nigh extreme and unprocurable of Brazil's early destruction admixture champions, verging on and, some title, pioneering what would by and by be known as stark metal, merely they besides embraced the ostensibly contradictory elements of spunk rock to boot. And even though this theme approach finally didn't spell out a recipe for widespread winner, it for certain made Sarcófago impossible to ignore.Guitarist and growler Wagner Lamounier (Antichrist to his friends) started Sarcófago in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, in 1985, in brief after organism booted kayoed of fellow demolition metal upstarts Sepultura, and igniting a bitter argument that would rage for age to come up. The band's card was in perpetual magnetic flux early on, simply by the goal of the following year, Sarcófago had managed to record three hopeful demos, that is to say Satanic Lust, Bleak Vomit, and the infamous Christ's Death -- all of which circulated in the tape-trading resistance and helped the dance band rapier a small simply fanatical following. Bassist Gerald Minelli (aka Incubus), guitarist Zéber (Butcher), and drummer Eduardo (D.D. Crazy) were presently on board and Sarcófago signed with local metallic element imprint Cogumelo Records, which issued their debut full-length, I.N.R.I., in July 1987. From the very starting time and unlike most of their peers, Sarcófago's embryonic expiry metallic element fury was more than openly accepting of touchwood rock attitudes (attestor Lamounier's cautiously groomed mohawk haircut on the album's twine up), which, at the time, established heavy metallic element fans' natural enemies. This contradiction earned them regard in some living quarters as unwitting crossing pioneers, just likewise lED to monolithic brawls (and another longstanding boeuf with literal punkers Ratos de Porão) between the deuce melodious tribes whenever the stripe made one of its rare concert appearances.Sarcófago was stripped mastered to a trio (including newfangled drummer Joker) come 1989's bright focused Rot. Arguably their finest moment, the phonograph recording album rewarded the grouping with their number 1 widespread indemnity coverage oversea, where some overexcited members of the specialised metallic element press seemed confident that Sarcófago could keep back gait with their fast-rising compatriots/adversaries Sepultura, themselves already on the firm cut to worldwide excrescence. But Sarcófago's inability (or refusal) to enlistment on a regular base made this all just unaccepted, and before long, nigh of the international bombilate encompassing the exit had faded away. A raw drummer, Lucio Olliver, and second guitar player Fabio Jhasko were brought in for 1991's incrementally realised The Laws of Scourge, after which Sarcófago at long last did hit the route in Europe and South America for what would prove to be their biggest touring stint e'er. Still, it wasn't sufficiency to growth their popularity abroad, mend at seat the gang remained talk outcasts because of their staunch anti-Christian posture and as offensive imagination. An drawn-out layoff followed 1992's Crush, Kill, Destroy EP and, fall 1994's Hatred LP (intended to be the fastest, virtually brutal record album of all time), Lamounier and Minelli made the controversial decisiveness to resolve their constant drummer issues by programming a simple machine. Brazilian heavy metal was entrance a geological period of turn down by this clip, anyway, and Sarcófago seemed felicitous to melt into the background after days of saturated grafting, only resurfacing on juncture with releases like 1995's Decade of Decay assemblage, 1997's ironically named The Worst, and 2000's Crust EP.

Oscar De La Hoya - Experts Conclude De La Hoya Pictures Were Faked

Pictures of American boxing champ OSCAR DE LA HOYA wearing an all-in-one fishnet outfit and stiletto heels have been declared by experts to be fakes.

Former stripper Milana Dravnel dropped her $25 million (GBP12.5 million) lawsuit against the super welterweight on Monday (09Jun08) after experts decided the saucy snaps, which appeared online last year (07), were digitally altered.

Dravnel had planned to sue the boxer for slander, claiming he urged her to sign a agreement that she could not prove the pictures were real.

De La Hoya's lawyer Judd Burstein tells the New York Daily News, "Oscar's always claimed the photos were false. We had experts conclude they were doctored. She was facing very large damages and so she agreed to drop the case. The case would have been dismissed anyway."

Sex And The City - Sex And The City Writer Wins First-look Film Deal

Michael Patrick King, the writer/director/producer of Sex and the City, has agreed a 'first-look' deal with DreamWorks studios.

With his feature directorial debut - based on the hit HBO series - having been released around the world this week, DreamWorks were eager to have the chance to snap up the rights for his next project.

And according to Variety, the new contract gives the studio first refusal on his next movie.

DreamWorks Studios co-chair and CEO Stacey Snider said the studio was attracted by the depth of King's writing, as shown through six seasons of Sex and the City and the spin-off film.

"[He] writes for audiences that are hungry for real characters and human stories," she explained.

King, an Emmy winner for his series about the lives and loves of four New York women, told the trade newspaper he is already working on his next film.

"It's a romantic comedy, but a deconstructed version," he said. "I want to write bigger stories about love and what it all means.

"The great thing about having your first movie be Sex and the City is the audience was accustomed to complicated storytelling," King added.

"Stacey and I had a great talk, and I'm going to show her the script and DreamWorks will have first jump at it."

Though disputes over pay caused a four-year gap between the end of Sex and the City's televised run and its big screen debut, King did not rule out the potential for a cinematic sequel.

"I wrote that movie with a beginning, middle and end because I didn't want to leave the audience unfulfilled," he said.

"The actresses are great, and if the gods smile and people are still interested, why not?"

Lou Pearlman - Backstreet Boys Creator Sentenced To 25 Years In Prison

Lou Pearlman, the man who created boy bands N'Sync and the Backstreet Boys, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison today.

The pop mogul was charged with swindling friends, investors and banks out of $300 million (£153 million) by encouraging them to invest in two bogus companies for almost two decades.

Pearlman previously pleaded guilty to the charge in March.

Today Judge G Kendall Sharp said he would reduce the prison sentence by one month for every $1 million (£500,000) Pearlman paid back to his victims.

Prosecutors claim that at least 250 individuals lost a total of $200 million (£102 million) while a further 10 financial institutions lost $100 million (£51 million) between them.

Pearlman said in a statement: "Over the past nine months since my arrest, I've come to realise the harm that's been done. I'm truly sorry and I apologise for what's happened."

In handing down the sentence the judge told Pearlman that because family members, close friends and elderly citizens were victims of his scheme, "the sympathy factor doesn't run high with the court".

Estelle - Estelle Denies Label Make-over Rumours

British rapper/singer ESTELLE has denied rumours record label bosses piled pressure on her to change her appearance because she looks like a "tomboy".

The American Boy hitmaker was reportedly asked by chiefs at John Legend's new label Homeschool Records to fix her teeth and alter her hair.

But the star admits it was her choice to get braces for her teeth, insisting her label is impressed with her image.

She says, "They know me. I came with a look. I came with my style and they were grateful. They were like, 'Thank God we don't got to worry about putting you in a pair of pants or giving you a weave.'

"I think because I got braces everyone said the label said it. I been trying to get braces since 2000 and I finally did it.

"But no, it was just something that I've always wanted to do. If people did their research on me on a real level they'd know that no one tells me what to do, ask John Legend."
